Most of my patients have heard me discuss my 1,3,5 plan for superior physical, mental, and spiritual health.

1)  Fast (or very low calorie day) for ONE day per week.

3)  Walk THREE miles a day (every day of the week) and

5)  Read FIVE chapters of scripture (click here for daily Bible reading plan) and eat FIVE fruits or vegetables every day.

Though many people testify to me of the power of this plan, actually doing it can be a real challenge.

Looking for a small battle to fight daily that will transform your life?  I recommend the 1,3,5 plan for the next year.  If you really followed the 1,3,5 plan your weight would normalize, blood pressure would come down, and you'd decrease your risk of heart disease, breast cancer, colon cancer, dementia, and all cause mortality would be cut in half.

What happens if you follow the 1,3,5 plan?  How would you like to help guarantee that your health improves dramatically over the next year by focusing on the battles that will give you the most ground in the area of health?  How would you like to be more consistent with your exercise?  How would you like to read the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice in 2005 (and let it's timeless principles soak into your fiber)?

Consider printing out each Daily Health Strategy.  Then you'll have a place to record miles walked, and numbers of fruits and vegetables eaten.  You will have an assigned reading from the Holy Bible...and if you follow the plan you'll read about 5 chapters per day and read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice in a year.

Along with the assigned scriptures, I'll be discussing principles from the Bible that apply to health and how I've seen people use these principles to improve their life.
